EV Charging Station in Piscataway

This was a doozy! This gentleman’s main electrical panel was located on an upper level of his house in Piscataway.  He was told by 2 other electrical contractors that they would have to run the wiring through his entire house and make many holes to run the wiring down to the location in which he wanted the EV Charger near his driveway. 

Not all electrical contractors know the in’s and out’s of the National Electrical Code (NEC) which governs our work.  I provided a reasonably priced and unobtrusive method to install his ChargePoint exactly where he wanted it by tapping into the service disconnect and installing a 60 Amp disconnect of my own.

This is code compliant and safe, it passed the municipal inspection with flying colors, and the total price came in under the $1,500 limit so he was reimbursed the entire price of the installation by PSEG via their EV Incentive program.
