PSE&G EV Rebate Program
Hello! This page is for homeowners in PSEG’s territory who have accepted our quote to install an EV charger at your home. Here we will list the process of having the EV charger installed and receiving the PSEG installation rebate.
Once you accept the estimate and pay the deposit, we will get to work on the electrical permit application for your town as well as the paperwork that we have to submit to PSEG’s construction department.
Once you receive the charging station, you can get started on your portion of the application, PSEG requires you as the homeowner to login to the portal with your PSEG account and enter some information:
You will need the serial number off of the charging station as well as the receipt for the purchase of the charging station.
Some other information that they ask for:
Our company name is: Ampacity Electric LLC
Our email address: voltagehz@gmail.com
Is your charger Energy Star Certified? Yes
Are you taking public funds? No
What is your charger output? 11.5 kW
What is your electrical service size? 100, 150, or 200. You can find this by looking at the number on the main breaker in your electrical panel.
Once you complete all this information, you could submit the application for preapproval. Once the preapproval has been complete, PSEG will get back to you asking for the following information:
–The receipt for the installation of the charger.
You will receive this on the day of installation when the final payment is paid.
–A photo of the charger showing the serial number.
This is the same serial number you entered manually in the initial part of the application. Now they want a photo of that serial number as it’s printed on the side or bottom of your charger.
–The inspection sticker.
This comes last. Once your town’s building department issues the electrical permit, we will let you know and you can schedule the inspection. The inspector will leave a sticker that says “Approved For Electrical”. A photo of that sticker is all you need to upload.
That’s it, you can finalize and submit the application. You should be receiving the reimbursement for the installation soon via a credit on your account.
The PSEG reimbursement program does not cover the purchase price of the charger itself, however, the state of New Jersey has a program offer offering $250 off of the purchase price of the charger:
